Dmitriy Minenko, Tidewind’s CEO, was presenting Unidirectional Rotation Rotor (UDRR) and power-generating turbine prototypes at the 16th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC2025) on the beautiful Portuguese island of Madeira hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico on September 7-11, 2025.

During his presentation, Dmitriy was able to meet and discuss his innovative technology for harvesting energy from two different renewable sources – marine tidal stream and wind – with several scientists and renewable energy specialists from all over the world, and Ph.D. students from leading European and US universities.

This presentation received positive feedback and valuable support from tidal energy specialists, with new ideas for UDRR turbine designs and possible implementations that may help to turn Tidewind’s promising ideas for tidal energy technology into a proven, affordable, and scalable solution for remote coastal communities all around the world.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with scientific researchers, engineers, and renewable industry leaders working at the forefront of marine renewable energy.

This conference was a valuable opportunity for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences that definitely provided a great boost to innovations in tidal energy sector.
