Our Power Generating Systems

This animation gives an example of the possible deployment of Tidewind hydro turbines on the marine sea floor.

Marine Tidal Stream
Power Systems

Marine tidal energy is a mostly untapped source of power generation that has several important advantages over the sun or wind power

Wind Power
Systems

There are several wind power generation technologies that are well tested and proved as a valuable source of renewable energy with single turbines and large wind farms built all around the world in on-shore and off-shore locations.

Free-Flow Hydropower
Systems

UDRR-based turbines can be used for harvesting energy of free-flowing water streams, like spill water flows from hydropower stations, dams, canals, rivers, creeks, etc.

Tidewind Inc. developed a unique range of power generation systems that can harvest energy from two different natural sources of renewable power – marine tidal streams and winds, offering a viable solution for a variety of applications.

All Tidewind power generation systems use a unidirectional rotation rotor (UDRR) as a major rotating part of power generation turbines. Those turbines have a simple construction, which makes them less expensive to manufacture and requires less initial investment for implementation compared with other existing power generation systems. As a result, they are more affordable for a wide range of customers, both government and private.

Simplicity of the construction also makes UDRR-based turbines more reliable, easy to perform necessary service and maintenance works while reducing operational costs. Our turbines are also less expensive to dismantle and utilize at the end of their service life.

One type of system was developed specifically for tidal marine stream power generation. Those tidal turbines can be placed on seabed using underwater supporting structures or installed on floating platforms anchored to the shore or sea bottom and generate electricity in low to medium speed marine tidal streams, both laminar and turbulent. The second type of system was developed for low-cost wind power generation in a wide range of air flow speeds. In this case UDRR-based wind turbines can be installed on the ground supporting structures, masts or on tall buildings in urban areas. Read more…

Another type of system can be used for harvesting energy from free-flowing river streams, creek streams, inshore tidal flows and hydropower station, dams and channels. Our hydrokinetic turbines are capable of operating in a variety of flow rates, making them deployable in the greatest range of locations around the world.  Read more…

Tidewind power generating systems offer the following benefits:

  • ● High reliability due to simple design with minimum rotating parts and control systems.
  • ● Lower production costs due to using modern manufacturing technologies and existing commercial power generating units.
  • ● Cost-effective supporting structure construction and installation costs.
  • ● Overall lower initial investment required.
  • ● Lower repair, service and maintenance costs during service life.
  • ● Lower cost of removal and utilization of power generating systems at the end of their lifecycle.
  • ● Safe for natural environment and for any form of wildlife of marine life.
