COAST and the University of Victoria recently announced the launch of the BC Marine Energy and Decarbonization Hub. The Hub will activate a series of industry-led challenges to encourage marine technology leaders from specific sectors to apply to test and demonstrate their innovations in response to these challenges.

Tidewind Inc. submitted an Expression of Interest and will introduce its innovative power systems that convert the renewable energy of marine tide streams and wind to address the Canadian Coast Guard’s challenge—decarbonization of land-based remote operational sites. A full application for this program will be submitted later this fall.
